    hello sir, i am PhD scholar currently working on classification of CRISM data . I have some doubt regarding mica type spectral library ,firstly what is the process of getting numerator I/F AND denominator I/F? secondly ,ratioed i/f corrected spectral profile graph range is different from the spectral profile of my matching image(i am using mtr3 dataset)?

    Hello Experts, I would like to learn how to calculate some indices to detect Gypsum and other minerals on Ritchey crater, I decided to start first with the formulations included in "CRISM Data Product Software Interface Specification" (as seen below) to seek out gypsum. However, I didn't clearly understand the syntax of the mentioned formulations, I mean (R, a, b ... etc), I found these formulations more detailed compared to the indices I've calculated before such as NDVI, EVI, SAVI ... (using Landsat8, Spot imageries). Would you please explain to me the syntax of these formulations and what do I need to get started with before diving into this process? …

    Hello Experts, After I merged S and L cubes into a single layer, I would like to represent these spectrums (Visible, NIR and SWIR) into a three dimensional cube. I used a "3D cube" tool in ENVI toolbox to do this, then I chose 3 bands from each mentioned spectrum to make a color composite.However, I didn't get the expected result as seen below. Is something wrong? I look forward to your reply. Rochdi.

  4. I noticed that the value range of MTRDR data’s Browse Products is 0-255. So most of the Summary products that extract from the CRISM data are vey small. In my opinion i think the finall summary products may normalized to 0-255 or other treatment methods(For example ,convert original float 32 images to uint 8 images) which i don‘t know. So i want to know what happened. In addition,what is the difference between this processed Browse Products and the original summary products data? What is it’s advantage? Thank you very much!

    Hello, I'm wondering where I can find the reference about the Data Filtering CIRRUS algorithm. And do the TRR3 CRISM data need to be denoised again by the CIRRUS algorithm?As far as I know,the TTR3 data have been filtered by the Ratio Shift Correction and Iterative Kernel Filter algorithms.   6. Hello, I am a PhD scholar exploring water associated morphology and mineralogy of the Martian surface. I am working with L band of CRISM for detection of sulfates in my area. As Leask et al. (2018) have brought forward concerns with possible artifacts at 1.9 and 2.1 micron, I am having difficulty with confirming sulfates in my area. I have analysed radiance data for the same (as suggested by them). But my study area is dust covered so it has a lot of noise and spikes. I have tried ratioing radiance data but CO2 bands still persist. It does show absorption at those wavelength (similar to ratioed I/F) but CO2 absorption at 2.0 micron are big enough to destroy who…

    Hello, Expert. I have downloaded CRISM TRDR dataset concerning Ritchey crater. Then, I've implemented CAT extension in order to do some photometric and atmospheric corrections as well. As known, the TRDR dataset broken out into two ranges: VNIR (0.3646 - 1.0560) and includes 107 bands. IR (1.0014 - 4) and includes 438 bands. I want to split up those ranges to Visible, Near-infrared and Short-wave infrared into these following wevelength: Visible (400nm to 700nm) Near Infrared (700nm to 1300nm) Short-wave infrared (1300nm to 3000nm) It means if I split up CRISM VNIR range into visible and NIR spectrums, the visible spect…

    Hello, I'm getting trouble to implement CAT, ENVI toolbox displays the extension, but when I clicked on it's not working either. I tried to restart ENVI and rebooting the system as well and the extension is not working yet. Any help? Look forward to your reply.

Hello, Experts I've downloaded CRISM data from Orbital Data Explorer to do some analysis on Ritchey Crater, As known, the appropriate directory is TRDR and I chose FRT images depending on the study's goal.     Hi! I'm looking to utilize and manipulate Lunar Terrain data for a project I'm working on. For some quick background, I essentially want access to as much lunar terrain data as I can get for a project that takes a Latt/Long coordinate and returns a Map of that area with the chosen terrain data laid on top of it.     Hello, I've been struggling with how to process the JP2 images I import into MATLAB. These images are read as int16 types. For example, skyv_65n_240m.jp2 SKYV_65N_240M_JP2.LBL The values of each pixel are a mystery to me. After applying the scaling factor and offset to each DN, the values are still not in steradians. I've tried working with several other LROC LOLA data types (roughness and slope maps), but after reading these JP2 files into MATLAB I end up with wonky pixel values. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you

    Hello, Can you point me to where I can find documentation regarding what the value of MISSING_CONSTANT represents? I have checked the RDR SIS, and didn't see anything. It's likely I'm overlooking something. For example, the LDRM_40N_1000M.IMG file shows a MISSING_CONSTANT value of -32768. Is this value meant to fix the OFFSET value? Thank you.

The software tool is located at https://pds-geosciences.wustl.edu/missions/messenger/grs_software.htm. I downloaded the messenger_pds_viewer_v7-macosx.tgz file and tried to run it, but absolutely nothing happens. The app won't launch. My understanding is that between July 2009 and July 2013, more than 6.5 billion LOLA measurements were collected (https://astrogeology.usgs.gov/search/details/Moon/LRO/LOLA/Lunar_LRO_LOLA_Global_LDEM_118m_Mar2014/cub), while running a LOLA RDR Query search on the full Moon with a minimum UTC time bound of 2014-01-01 returns only 432,978 points.     We were contacted by a user trying to read SHARAD EDR data with ReadPDS3 for IDL, but that tool does not read the bit fields and three-byte integers in the data product, and as it is a PDS3 tool it is not likely to be developed further. We suggested the following tools for working with SHARAD data. There was a SHARAD/MARSIS workshop at LPSC in 2014. For example: "I'm exploring the temperature data of the Diviner, I have downloaded TB (Brightness Temperature) data for 6,7,8, and 9 channels and I found negative values (in K) in a few of the images after conversion (TB= (DN * scaling factor) + Offset).   23. Hi, I am trying to use the MSP I/F data from CRISM for spectral analysis. It is of the third version (TRR3). I followed these steps: 1)Convert PDS file to CAT file 2)Photometric correction (divide by cosine of incidence angle) 3)Atmospheric correction using the Volcano Scan technique (default 61C4) However I am yet to do the destriping and despiking for the data cube. I am not sure of which option to use - CIRRUS clean cube or the MRO CRISM Remove Stripes.   24. Hi all, as the title says, how can I remove in a simple way (I wish) this artifact from CRISM cubes?. I'm working with ENVI and CAT, but I'm not an IDL user, so if there exist a simple way to did it, would be really great.
